At Studiosept Agency, every project is an exploration. A deep dive into materials, human stories and the history that shapes our present. After a first documentary devoted to coal and Belgium’s mining past, we are proud to announce the development of our second documentary, this time dedicated to an equally iconic material: zinc.
From coal to zinc: continuity in our documentary approach
Our first documentary explored the history of coal in Belgium, highlighting industrial heritage, the testimonies of former miners and the impact of this resource on the country’s economic development.
With this new project, we are pursuing the same ambition:
to tell the story of the materials that have shaped our regions
to highlight the women and men who bring them to life
to film materials with a strong cinematic approach
Zinc was the obvious choice. Present in our cities, on our roofs and in our architecture, it is nevertheless often invisible to the general public.
A documentary between Belgium and France
This second documentary will take us on a journey across Belgium and France, two regions closely linked to the history of zinc.
We will meet:
- industry professionals (craftspeople, manufacturers, architects)
- heritage enthusiasts
- iconic places linked to the mining and processing of zinc
The goal: to create an immersive documentary, halfway between heritage film, aesthetic work and human story.
A visual approach inspired by cinema
At Studiosept Agency, we apply the codes of cinema to each of our projects. This documentary on zinc will be no exception.
On the programme:
- macro shots and textures of the material
- natural light playing on metal surfaces
- filming in real conditions (workshops, building sites, cities)
- sensitive and immersive storytelling
We want to reveal the full visual richness of zinc:
its reflections
its transformations over time
its almost living dimension
Why a documentary about zinc?
Zinc is a material at the heart of many contemporary issues:
- sustainable architecture
- circular economy
- passing on know-how
- promoting industrial heritage
Through this film, we want to answer a simple question:
how can a material tell the story of an era, a region and its people?
A project serving our vision at Studiosept Agency
This second documentary is fully in line with our DNA:
- telling powerful stories
- creating content of high aesthetic value
- developing original projects alongside our client productions
It also marks a new stage in Studiosept Agency’s development, affirming our desire to produce ambitious documentaries in Belgium and Europe.
What’s next?
The project is currently in development.
Location scouting, meetings, writing… each stage is already feeding the film’s narrative.
We can’t wait to take you with us on this new adventure.
