Aerial footage is nothing new. Cinema has used it for a very long time. But the means to achieve it long remained heavy and expensive. With drones and the miniaturisation of cameras, aerial shots have become simpler and more common. In recent years, they have been used in reports and commercials, and they have naturally found their place in corporate video.
But beware: although drone video has become an accessible tool, it remains a professional tool.
At Studiosept Agency SRL, professional standards mean:
USING IT WISELY
There is no question of using this tool just for fun. The angles and effects that aerial video allows must serve the subject. This is the case, for example, in real estate, to show the setting of a building. It is also the case when introducing a topic and “focusing” on a facility or a service.
To avoid boring the audience, aerial footage must be part of a broader narrative and must be justified.
This is the know-how and expertise that Studiosept Agency brings upstream of every production, when preparing each script.
TECHNICAL IMPLEMENTATION
A drone is a sophisticated device with many features. Like any other camera, it only delivers its full effect when it is perfectly mastered.
Only perfect coordination between a pilot and a director makes it possible to exploit the full potential of this type of image.
Not to mention that situations are sometimes complex and require ad hoc solutions.
Did you know, for example, that indoor aerial filming is often used because it offers original sequences? But as you can imagine, the technical constraints are numerous and must be studied carefully.
We sometimes also have to invent new technical solutions. For example, we innovated by producing 360° aerial footage with technical equipment that had to be specially certified.
STRICT COMPLIANCE WITH TECHNICAL REGULATIONS
We consider that the regulations in place are primarily designed for physical safety and respect for private or public information. There is therefore no question of deviating from them. We hold the activity declarations required to carry out all types of aerial filming. We are insured and registered with the DGTA (Belgian Directorate General for Air Transport). When planning a flight, we always tell you which types of zones we will be operating in, and we hold the licences to carry out our activities fully legally. In addition, all our aircraft are certified.
